Clean Steam Converter
Clean steam converters produce high-purity steam from process or heating steam. To do this, pure water is vaporized via heat exchanger cartridges installed in the boiler. Lautenschläger clean steam generators are specifically designed for high purity requirements and applications with high peak consumption (e.g., steam sterilizers, steam disinfectors, and steam pasteurizers). A large boiler volume, high operating pressure, and low heat transfer surface load ensure optimally dry saturated steam.

When designing a pure steam supply system, the requirements are entirely different from those for a process or heating steam supply. In addition to material selection and purity requirements, the process characteristics of the steam consumers often result in additional specifications. For example, pure steam for autoclaves in laboratories or in industrial and pharmaceutical applications must not be superheated, nor may it contain excessive moisture. Furthermore, it should be as free as possible of non-condensable gases. Our brochure “Pure steam supply lines for steam sterilization“ was written with the aim of describing the requirements for pure steam supply systems in steam sterilization technology and identifying possible technical solutions.
Steam used in sterilization processes should be saturated steam that is free of impurities and contains no non-condensable gases. Impurities in the sterilization steam enter the autoclave and are transferred to the products. This can damage or contaminate your products, cause unwanted deposits to form, or even endanger human life. These residues in the steam can originate from the feedwater, the steam boiler, or the steam lines. Our brochure provides many valuable tips for optimizing your steam supply system.
